Recent Achievement: Thanks to our advocacy activities, by 2024 Maine will have online voter registration, semi-open primaries, expanded absentee voting, post-election audits, and a ban on corporate contributions to legislators.

Maine Center for Economic Policy
Recent Achievement: No policy has a bigger impact on alleviating poverty than the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), which provides a tax refund to help working households make ends meet. Since 2000, MECEP [has] worked to make the credit fully refundable and to increase the EITC to 5% of the federal credit— more than doubling the credit.
