Current Priorities: Continuing our 30×30 campaign to conserve 30% of Maine’s land and water by 2030 and to create more equitable access to the outdoors by reducing barriers such as fees and transportation access to public places.
Recent achievement: In a victory more than a decade in the making, NRCM led efforts resulting in lawmakers closing a loophole in the law that allowed other states to dump hundreds of thousands of tons of construction and demolition debris (CDD) in Maine’s Juniper Ridge Landfill; this created a massive environmental injustice for residents and tribal citizens in the area.
Current priorities: We are looking forward to expanding the services we offer our members.
Recent achievements: MPRC-trained volunteers have been part of successful legislative campaigns in the past year around drug policy reform and affordable housing.
How does MaineShare benefit you?: We are committed to the idea that social justice organizations should be funded to the greatest extent possible by everyday people for whom policy reforms matter most.
